The Grizzly Bear is a large brown bear species found in the far northwestern parts of North America, mainly in Canada and Alaska. While not as huge as the Polar Bear, it can grow quite large, reaching up to 1000 lbs and 6 ½ feet long. Its sharp claws can be up to four inches! Explorers Lewis and Clark first called it “grisley”. It probably referred to the bear's “grizzled” look with lighter fur tips. You can tell Grizzly Bears from smaller Black Bears easily. The Grizzly has a big shoulder hump, a broader face, and a lower rump. This Grizzly Bear figure has all the unique features of its subspecies, like the prominent shoulder hump and sharp claws. It's 9 inches long from snout to foot and 5 inches tall to the hump top, about half the size of a standard paper. It's part of the Wild Wildlife collection.
